The dates have been chosen so participants can also attend the « Sacrées Journées de Strasbourg », the equivalent of Marktoberdorf’s «Musica Sacra International ». A bedsit reserved from Nov.7 at the Collège Doctoral Européen is the same price as from Nov. 9!

Other sessions are in preparation for Antwerp (Belgium), Montreal and/or Edmonton (Canada), Brasov (Romania), Kinshasa (Congo Democratic Republic).

Musica award at the International Choral Festival 2015 of Cork (Ireland)

The winner of the Musica award at the International Choral Festival 2015 of Cork (Ireland) is New Dublin Voices conducted by Bernie Sherlock.
New Dublin Voices is a leading Irish chamber choir. Founded in 2005 by conductor Bernie Sherlock, NDV performs an innovative repertoire ranging from the medieval to the contemporary.
The choir takes special pleasure in exploring the music of living composers and has given numerous Irish and world premieres. The choir's busy calendar includes fund-raising for charities, television appearances, guesting with both orchestras of the national broadcaster, RTÉ, and performing at special events.
Bernie Sherlock is Musical Director of the Culwick Choral Society, and Lecturer in Music at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.

Europa Cantat XIX, Pecs (Hungary), July 24 – August 2, 2015

The Europa Cantat festival is one of the major choral events in 2015. Musica International will be present at the Expo which will take place from July 28 to August 1st. Come and meet us there as well as the publishers, members of Musica, present.

Chor.com has become a major meeting place for the choral world in Germany. Musica International will be at the Chor.com expo. Come and meet us there as well as the many publishers, members of Musica, present.

Choral Composition of the Federaciό Catalana d’Entitats Coral (FCEC)

The FCEC announces the VIth International « Catalunya » Prize for Choral Compositions. This covers works with a Catalan text and arrangements of traditional Catalan songs, of low/medium difficulty, in two categories : mixed voices and equal voices. The winning works will be published in the FCEC « Choral collections » and recorded on a CD.

Orfeό Català announces its Ist Choral Music Competition for Choral Composition « Festa de la Música Coral » to promote new Catalan and international choral creations, an initiative which will culminate in the Choral Music Festival, a contest created in 1904 to promote composition, which will be held on February 28, 2016.

The two awards are now open and the delivery deadline for both is July 10, 2015. The results will be communicated in early November 2015.
