I was glad
when they said to me:
Let us go into the house of the Lord.
Our feet have lingered too long in those places
that preceded you, Jerusalem
Jerusalem, built as a city
Bound firmly together in unity
Whither the tribes go up
The tribes of the Lord brought
Celebration of Israel
To give thanks to the Lord.
There the thrones are set
The foundation of the house of David.
Pray for the peace
of Jerusalem
And for prosperity to those that love it.
Peace be in thy virtue
And prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions' sakes
I will say, peace be within thee.
Because of the house of the Lord our God
I sought happiness in You.
