Engl. Trans  (Ginastera)  Lamentations  (Klagelieder des Propheten Jeremia):
1. O vos omnes; 2. Ego vir videns; 3. Redordare Domine

1. You who pass by, behold,
and see if there is any sorrow
like unto my sorrow,
which is done unto me,
where with the Lord has afflicted me
in the day of his fierce anger.
Behold o Lord, for I am in distress:
my bowels are troubled,
my heart is turned within me;
for I have grievously rebelled:
abroad the sword bereaves,
at home there is as death.
For these things I weep,
mine eye runneth down with water,
because the comforter
that should relieve my soul
is far from me:
my children are desolate,
because the enemy prevailed.
His anger will pursue them
and destroy them.

2. I am the man
that has seen affliction
by the rod of his wrath.
He has led me and brought me
into darkness, but not into light.
My flesh and my skin has he made old;
he has broken my bones.
He has set me in dark places
as they that be dead of old.
Also when I cry and shout,
he shuts out my prayer.
And I said, my strengh
and my hope
is perished from the Lord.

3. Remember o Lord
what is come upon us:
consider, and behold our reproach.
Turn us unto you, o Lord,
and we shall be turned;
renew our days as of old.
You alone rmain unchanged
from generation to generation.
