Do not mourn, blessed followers of Christ,
Because nobody's hate will harm you,
Although the anger of this world rests upon you.
Christ, the noble one, will not abandon you.

You are a royal people, although you are small,
you are surely pleasing to God, the Father.
Indeed, through His Holy Son you are His Son,
participating in the renown and holiness.

You cannot be captured by the heathen enemy,
Although the cruelty is hard to bear.
Should the heathen enemy even tear you apart,
Christ will let you rise from the dead;
this is your destiny. No matter how the devil will reach out for you,
and should he be angry in all his limbs,
should he pursue you with weapons,
if you trust in Christ, this cannot harm you.

Let Christ watch over his holy church,
just as the good shepherd watches over his sheep.
He who listens to the Word of Christ,
will always carry his mercy.

Lord, do not look at the blindness of this world,
at the ungratefulness of humans for your great kindness.
Do not look at those who curse your word,
but at the innocent death of Christ.

Take from us the great hostility,
take from us the great animosity.
Let us no become afraid in bitterness,
le us not doubt in the hour of our death.
