Engl Trans  Gyrowetz  Herr, dessen Weisheit;  Gottes Macht und Vorsehung

1.  Lord, whose great wisdom ever stands.
Lord, Who art source of all creation.
Thou higher than the highest heav'ns
And deeper than the deepest ocean,
Who knows the thunder of thy might?
Thou hast spread out the dark of night
And nam'st the stars as thy possesions.
The stormwind takes its force from thee,
The seas their depth, the sun its ray;
Thou dost uphold the earth's foundations.

The Lord is God, light is his robe.
the Lord is God!
He frowns, and heaven's pillars tremble;
His wrath destroys, his lightnings throb.
For him the dark storm clouds assemble.
The starry heavens he has spread;
Upright and truthful is his word,
And wisdom is in all his speaking.
His breath forms life and fire alike;
He looks at meadows and they quake.
And he gives mountains fire and smoking

But what is mortal man to thee.
For thee, Almighty, to consider?
What is this earth, and what are we,
whom thou hast blessed with wealth and splendor?
For thee the world with its purview i
s as a drop of morningdew.
Thou fount of wonders and of pleasure.
Before the vision of thy light
The sun itself is dust, naught.
But God alone is help and treasure.

3. God is my song, the God of revelation
Great is his name and mighty his creation.
And all the heavens his domain.
His wills and speaks
and worlds are formed from nothing;
He speaks in rage,
and at his very breathing the heavens tremble.

What is and was in heavens, earth and oceans,
God knows it all.
The host of works he fashinons
are ever spread before his gaze.
He knows my pain and all my spirit's wailing.
He knows my every virtue's deed and failing
And runs in mercy to my aid.

He knew of all the gifts that he would give me.
Wrote in his book
how long this life would move me
Before I yet was formed and made.

Who comprehends
the wonders of thy doing?
Each speck of dust
to which thou givest being
Proclaims its great Creator's might.
The smallest of things shows for thy glory.
You, sky and sea
you, meadows, hill and valley
You are his anthem and his psalm.

God ist my shield,
 if he will be my Saviour
I ask no more in earth or heaven forever
And will defy all hell can yield.
God is my shield.
