Word of the Highest, our only hope,
eternal day of earth and heaven,
we break the silence of the peaceful night,
Divine Saviour, cast your eyes upon us!

Pour over us the fire of your mighty grace,

which allows us to forget your laws.

O Christ, be merciful to your people who believe in you,
