English Translation

A song of ascents.
When the Lord restored our exiles to Zion
it was like a dream.

Our mouths were filled with laughter,
joyous song was on our tongues.
Then it was said among the nations,
"The Lord has done great things for them!"

Great things indeed He did for us;
therefore we rejoiced.

Restore us, O Lord,
like watercourses in the Negeb.

They who sow in tears
shall reap with songs of joy.

Though he goes along weeping,
carrying the seed-bag,
he shall come back with songs of joy,
carrying his sheaves.
