English lyrics: George Linley, from The Songs of Wales, 1879

Rhwym wrth dy wregys gleddyf gwyn dy dad;
Atynt fy machgen! dros wlad!
Mwg y pentrefydd gyfyd gyda'r gwynt,
Draw dy gymrodyr ânt yn gynt.
Sych dy ddagrau, ar dy gyfrwy naid,
Gwrando'r saethau'n suo fel seirff dibaid.
Wrth dy fwa, hyn wna'th fraich yn gref,
Cofia am dy dad, fel bu farw ef!

2. Marchog i'w canol! dangos dy arfbais,
Cyfod goch faner, dychryn y Sais!
Chwyth yr hen utgorn a ferwina'i glust,
Byw o'i enciliad bydd yn dyst.
Swn gorfoledd clyw yr ennyd hon,
Bloeddio 'Buddugoliaeth' tros Foel y don;
Bendith arnat, dos yn enw'r nef!
Cofia am dy dad, fel bu farw ef!

Forth to the battle! onward the fight,
Swift as the eagle in his flight!
Let not the sunlight o'er our pathway close,
Till we o'erthrow our Saxon foes.
Strong as yonder foaming tide,
Rushing down the mountainside;
Be ye ready, sword and spear,
Pour upon the spoiler near.

Winds! that float o'er us, bid the tyrant quail,
Ne'er shall his ruffian bands prevail!
Morning shall view us fetterless and free,
Slaves ne'er shall Cymry's children be.
Heaven our arms with conquest bless,
All our bitter wrongs redress;
Strike the harp! Awake the cry!
Valour's sons fear not to die.
