When Rebellion first made its appearance,
And showed to our country its cause,
'Twas then our brave men they did muster
To fight for our country and laws,
The Twelfth Regiment they all got ready,
To stand for their Banner so true
They offered themselves to our country,
To fight for the Red, White and Blue.
Chorus:
|: To fight for the Red, White and Blue :|
They offered themselves to our country,
To fight for the Red, White and Blue.
2. Our government they quickly accepted,
Their brave Twelfth who their kindness conferred
That had vowed to be true to their country
If in danger of the bayonet and sword;
They then all received marching orders,
To preserve their sweet Banner so true
The Regiment marched bravely onward,
To fight for the Red, White and Blue.
Chorus:

3. They have gone to preserve us our nation,
And not let the traitors cut us down;
We know they are brave and have courage
And will not retreat from their ground;
They have marched onward to the field of battle
With their colors flying so true,
With the providence of God we are hoping,
They'll come back with the Red, White and Blue.
Chorus:
