Run rabbit - run rabbit - Run! Run! Run!
Run rabbit - run rabbit - Run! Run! Run!
So run rabbit - run rabbit - Run! Run! Run!

Run rabbit - run rabbit - Run! Run! Run!
Don't give the farmer his fun! Fun! Fun!
He'll get by without his rabbit pie
So run rabbit - run rabbit - Run! Run! Run!

Run, run rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to start another one

For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave.

The first civilian killed in an air raid on Britain was James Isbister, during a German raid on Scapa Flow in the Orkney's on July 24, 1940. On a previous raid, the only fatality was a rabbit, which gave rise to this marching song.

Or, the song was written in response to a comment from Adolf Hitler that he would "invade England and dine on rabbit." I wonder which is right. - Phil Atkinson. Comments???
