WHAT YOU MUST KNOW
The different forms will allow you to describe a score at an almost comprehensive level, excepting the musical themes for which input by the Web is not possible yet (you will be able to add them later).
In order to guarantee the homogeneity and the integrity of Musica, all submissions are reviewed by the Musica team before being added to the database.

Musica is willing to be a comprehensive database--an invaluable resource for performers and researchers alike--not a simple catalog of publishers!
To be in tune with this goal, be as comprehensive and precise as possible. The
documentary structure of Musica is the result of 20 years of thought and of a constantly evolving methodology. Each of the available fields has been designed to be valuable for at least some users.

OPERATING PROCEDURE

In order to accommodate all of the information that can be entered or that is linked to a Musica record, 4 different forms are available for entry

of a new score
of a new publisher
of a new composer
of a new author of text

You need to submit a form only if there is no existing record in Musica for the score, the composer, the author of text, or the publisher. For each publisher, composer, or author of text, you need to fill in the corresponding form only once, even if you submit several scores.

Guidelines for entering scores in Musica

1 single record of a same score at the same publisher if it exists in octavos with different reference numbers.
1 single record of a same score at the same publisher if it appears in different collections.

We ask you to verify first that a record for the score does not exist already in Musica.
Do a search, then compare the composer, title, publisher, and publisher's reference number identified in the record with those on your score.
If all of these fields match, do not enter a new record.

Do not submit unpublished scores that are not available for visitors of Musica !

We wish you a great time by collaborating with us.

After your first submissions, you will receive a receipt notice. This may take several minutes. If after 60 minutes, no such receipt comes to you, your submission is probably never arrived to us. We thank you then to contact us (office(at)musicanet.org) in order to verify what's wrong.
