Musica will be present at Podium 2018 in Saint John’s, Newfoundland !

The interest session “A Vital Resource for Canadian and Global Choral Repertoire” will be held on June, 30th at 10am by Jean Sturm, France, designer of Musica, seconded by a conductor (Leonard Ratzlaff, University of Alberta, Canada), a composer/conductor (Robert Ingari, University of Sherbrooke, Canada) and a publisher/composer/conductor (Larry Nickel, Cypress Choral Music, Canada).

Finding repertoire is a constant concern of any conductor or organizer of choral events. With about 200,000 titles comprehensively described, including multimedia features and powerful search capabilities, Musica aims to become the standard global database of choral repertoire (www.musicanet.org, or through www.choralcanada.org with privileged access for the members). The session will focus on searches for Canadian choral repertoire, how to conceive a program according to a given theme, how the works of a composer are referenced, how a publisher can be visible through this project, and even how everyone (or a music library) can now manage his/her own choral holdings or library inside the Musica database.
